Bulgarian photographer Nikolay Pandev says that rather than “the audience with testimonials,” he prefers letting his images speak for him as much as he wants, however he states that he love to travel and experience life entirely. His enthusiasm seems to be oozing through every picture and exposing stunning scenes as “before you know it, it has been gone forever,” he says, “to live and experience and to capture this special moment.”
Though he lives in London, Pandev says he can live anywhere easily. And he adds, « I would have be a chef, a painter, a mathematician, a sculptor, a technician or an interior designer if not a photographer ». I did some of that, actually, and I was good. But still. But still. Basically I was motivated by my creative disposition and am in love with photography. I can’t help it. I actually can’t help it. The fact that I’m not driven by money is what makes me a better photographer.
“Nick,” as his friends call him, is one of only a very few Bulgarian photographers who’ve been featured on National Geographic. Born and raised in Bulgaria, he’s been living in England for the past 15 years.
Pictured above, is a magnificent scene in Bjarnarhöfn, Iceland, where the aurora borealis provides an especially stunning backdrop.
